December 11th, 2006.  Two updates within a year?  Ludicrous!
 

-Fanfiction.  Updated to be (I think) current.  And... yeah, that's about it for now.
 

However... in addition, I put the forum back together (Although I lost everything but the layout... *grumble*), and rigged up the SpiritsWithin.Net Fanfiction Corner.  Both can be accessed through SpiritsWithin.Net's frontpage.  So... go play!

Lastly, I'm considering doing massive, single-section updates all around to finish the sections that can be finished.  But I'll have to see if I have time....

-Fanfiction: New stories, new chapters, and fixed some broken and erroneous stuff.  Also, you may be interested in this.

-Visuals: One new fanart I found in my stuff.

-Downloads: Wallpaper, and an RPGMaker psuedo-game.

-Music Videos: Went through, listed and reviewed all the fanmade music vids I'd seen.  Also updated the listing a bit.

-Collectables: Everything I know about the watches.

-Updated: various bits around 'site.  Added a new poll (see below), removed the IRC bit (as I never go there, and therefore it is not really maintained...).  Eyed the forum after it imploded, but I'm not sure whether there'll be any use out of that yet....
 

So it's been a year, and I should probably have more to show for it.  I wanted to get this update in by October.  Then December.  Then January.  And it went on like that.  Busy, busy, when I should have just sat down and done it.

...Anyhow - still a bit I want to get done, apart from the obvious...  Instead of rambling through a list of things, I'll start with this:

I've been tinkering with eFiction, and since set up a temporary (possibly permanent) installation at fanfiction.spiritswithin.net.  Except for getting a feel for how it works, I've left it in its default state.  Mainly this is because I don't know if anyone will actually use the thing.  I'd rather not set it up in place of the current system I have and say, "Have at it!" only to have nothing happen.  Thus: I rigged the poll, that you might help with the decision-making process.  ... Please do.

... So... anniversary, until next time (sooner than a year, I hope I hope I hope...), and I shall leave you with the following: Spirits in a Basket.

-Fanfiction: Ten new fics.  Four updated fics.  A list of fiction not available on this site.

-Downloads: PDF format eBook versions of Leonid, Salvation, and Gaia's Gift.  Leonid was an experiment. Salvation and Gaia's Gift were gifts to their authors that I never got around to giving.  (So... uh... enjoy you two).
 

Yeah, it isn't a lot.  And, no, two updates in the past year doesn't really seem encouraging.  I know.  I apologize.

Anyway - Soul Haven's Third Aniversary, TSW's Fourth, and Ryan's -30th birthday.  If I missed anything or there are any broken links, please tell me.

September 15th, 2004.  School Sucks.

-Fanfiction: Four new stories, one new chapter, and an addendum to Out of the Ashes have been added.  In addition, there are two new indices from which to choose and all the chaptered stories (with over two chapters) have title pages.

-Fanart: I finally have a scanner, which means that you, the viewer of this page, will now be subjugated to my craptacular beautiful artistry skills.  Not particularly, but I did

-Collector's Corner: Cards and Cardz.

-Other: A forum has been created and tested.  I doubt it will live, but we can always kick around the corpse for fun.  ^-^
 

I would have updated sooner, but there were life issues.  Hopefully next time shall be sooner.

July 13th, 2004.  Hurrah!

-Fanfiction: Two new chapters, four new stories, and five chaptered stories now have title pages (Convergent Paths, Heaven's Fall, Holiday Spirit, Out of the Ashes, and Sempiternal).

-Downloads: Five Winamp Skins.

-Collector's Corner: Bandai, Palisades, and Great Eastern have been filled out.

-Misc: Added Conspiracies for fun.

-Other: Have added links to an IRC chatroom, and restored the Poll.  Still working on a guestbook and a forum.
 

Today is the third anniversary of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within's release.  It is the second anniversary of this site.  And it is the 'Grand Opening' of sorts for SpiritsWithin.Net.  Yes, I've had it for a couple of months, but there was never anything there.  Now there is.  Sorta.

Anyway, so I figured it'd be good to do some celebrating.

May 16th, 2004.  Urgl.  Just urgl.

-Fanfiction, Two new chapters, One new story.  Working on title pages (You'll see those soon).

-Downloads.  Nothing yet, but there is a section.

-Changed the front page muchly.
 

I now have the POWER to make a dynamic review system for... things.  Although, I don't quite have the knowhow.  Likewise, I'm considering trying to start up a forum... although, seeing how the last one was pretty much neglected (granted, I didn't flaunt it then, but...).

I know for a fact that our community isn't dead, but it does seem slightly narcoleptic.

April 25th, 2004.  Yes, it's true.  I did it.  I finally did it.  I blew it up.  Er... Wait.  I only moved it.  Yeah, that's what I did.  And, other than having moved, I:

-Updated the Fanfiction section with the end of 'What You See...' as well as fixed a bunch of problems that I didn't know existed, backstage.
-Updated the Fanart with newness.
-Changed the front page slightly (though I want to change it muchly more).
-Edited various inconsequential little bits that were off or no longer apply...

I also found out that links can be relative as opposed to fiercely direct.  Much *Love* to that knowledge.

April, 12th, 2004.  I have a cunning plan, but it's a secret.  To know, you have to wait and see.  Although, you might be able to bribe my partner in crime, before that.

- Fanfiction.  New stories, new chapters, new author contact list format.  Finally fixed Convergent Paths' little problem.
- Fanart.  Revamped.  Art everywhere, and artists now have their own contact list.  Finally fixed the 'Arts & Images' links on the gallery pages.
- New Section in Visuals, Concept Art, is now displaying, as you may have guessed, concept art.  Not a lot, but some.
- Old, dead Links have been removed and new links have been added.
- The poll, but you probably noticed that already.
 

While revamping the fanart section, I figured out the Mozilla spacing problem.  Which means I might be able to fix it.  Maybe.

March 20th, 2004.  Sometimes I like to forget I run a website.

- Fanfiction.  New Story and New Chapters.

And That's... it.

Oh, I do have more planned, it's just taking time to figure out how I really want it.  I want to finish off certain sections, and I'm thinking of reopening the Character section for the councilfolk and the various fanmade apparitions that have made it into the Spirits Within mix.

February 23rd, 2004.  Grah, I tell you! Grah!

- New fanfiction - chapters and stories.
- New fanart.  Lots.
- New gallery of the various media images in Visuals.
- Information on the various music videos in Misc.

I'm thinking of redesigning the fanart section again.  Nothing as drastic, but I was feeling the draft from all that empty space and sort of looked to the fiction section for inspiration.  And I think I have to fix the A&I return links, anyway.  I kind of want to redesign the front page, too....  Actually, the whole site cou... no, no, no.  Just the fanart section.  Yeah.

Oh, and I'd finally like to apologize to any Mozilla users.  I notice certain inconsistancies with the spacing on some pages when using it.  I'm not sure how to fix this.
 
 

February 3rd, 2004.  Hmm.  Somehow, I don't feel like I did much around here recently... hn.  Well, what I do have...

- Some new Fanfiction.
- A new piece of art.
- Book information (in misc).
- Video Game information (in misc).

And I've found an interesting anomaly... Many times I search for TSW fanfiction over the web, I come across a certain string of webjournalythings, all belonging to the same person.  Jess, I'm looking in your direction.
 

January 7th, 2004.  Yes folks, I'm taking time out of my very own day to make an update.  That's how much I love you all.

Here's the score:

-A few new fanart.
-Some good fiction that I recently got permission for; and some good fiction that I think I had permission for already, but stupidity seems to have robbed you of when I was initially putting the 'site together.  Or... yeah.  I dunno, you can leave the permission to me unless you know something I don't.  In which case I implore you to help me out.

In addition, the Misc. Section just took its first steps in the form of the Animatrix review (found it!) and a section for TSW Games.  I feel so proud.

December 19th, 2003.  Happy Holidays, for whatever one it is you celebrate (... or don't celebrate, depending).

Bad news is that I don't have the Animatrix bit up as planned, seeing as I lost what I was working on somewhere (if I'm lucky, I only lost it).

November 29th, 2003.  Getting ever so close to completion, yet it still seems far away....  And darn!  Three updates in one month, I can hardly believe me.

November 19th, 2003.  Well, here it is.  Some things change, some things stay the same.  Some things will change, some things will finally get done.

The new host is free, has no ads, gives 50MB of space, and "unlimited" bandwidth.  There is a "maximum file size," and a few typical restrictions, but nothing that I've gotten tangled in as of yet.  The only bad side seems to be that loading is a little slower, at least from time to time.  We'll have to wait and see if it's truely any better.

If you notice any bad links within 'site, or things you think look out of place, please tell me.  I tried my best, but my mind is a little frazzled by now.

New Things:

A guestbook that came with the account.
A fanfiction/fanart review system using a free ezboard.
New chapters/new fanfiction.

Redone Things:

The Fanfiction system as a whole - now separated into chapters, with review link at the bottom.
Parts of the Characters section have been fixed (why was I not told I forgot to add certain links?)
Parts of everywhere were edited to keep congruity within the subsections and 'site as a whole.

I've long since abandoned the idea of colored fanfiction pages... (I think you can find evidence of this old project on the old site... Christmas Spirit comes to mind)

November 8th, 2003.  If you've been here before, you might notice the changes.  I felt like doing something creative... I want to rework the site, but it's taking forever....  Today, in addition to the differences in appearance, the stills gallery is complete, and I added and extended some fanfics.

Understand, I'm trying to rework the fanfiction section.  I spent hours on what I thought might be a good replacement, only to realize I hated it.

Also, I'm looking into moving to a new host.  Geocities is nice enough, but its particular ad format is driving me insane.  That, and I'm running low on space.  I'll probably keep it for some of the other pages, but not for Soul Haven - its time it has new home.

August 4th, 2003.  This is, most likely, the last update before I leave.  A few new stories in Fanfiction, and a new link to a fanlisting I stumbled across last week.

July 13th, 2003.  One year since the 'site was launched.  Two since TSW premered.  Apparently thirty-two years until Ryan would be born;  Remembering that the movie was a week early in debut, I'm wondering if they planned it that way....
Anyhow, I've finally expanded a little.  In the Visuals, fanart is up, and screen shots.  A few new fictions.  Considering a new layout, but only that.  Cast and official synopsis are in their respective places. Not a lot, but some!

May 30th, 2003.  Hey, four months in a row!  More or less... I had the resources for this update since the beginning of the month, I just haven't gotten around to it. I wanted to do more darnit!  Anyway, forty-nine new fanfics, including multi-chapters this time and six new authors.  Ugh, I'm going to run out of room by fanfics alone... But anyway, I have outlines for the images sections and restored the... uh.. bits I accidentally deleted off the site yesterday trying to rename something.

April 23rd, 2003.  With the addition of the Statistics, the characters page is now (finally) complete.  I may decide to put up original characters, but only if I get basic bios and stats from their creators.  Next I'll probably get a bunch of fanfiction up, as well as start on the gallery.

March 3rd, 2003. (03.03.03 ...) This should have been done two weeks ago, but I have midterms to deal with. 13 stories by five different authors for your enjoyment. Enjoy. The update was a little rushed, so if you find any broken links, or errors or anything, tell me, please. I think any fiction before this update may be lacking their italics, but I can't fix that just yet. I'll probably fix everything all at once (After I've collected everything I can).

Feb. 8th, 2003.  Sorry for the delay.  University Education has kidnapped me.  I'll update more often, I swear.  Today, I rehauled the Fanfiction section and finished my evals of the characters.  Next time, Character Stats (and I'll be done with that section), probably more fics, maybe some art...

Oct. 22th, 2002.  Okay, didn't get as much done as I wanted to.  And took a lot more time than I hoped.  Ah well, sorry; I'm still learning.  Today – Fanfiction, some in Movie, and a bunch of Links.  Working on – Characters, Fanfiction, and other misc. things.

July 23, 2002.  Uploaded some shorter, finished fanfiction, longer and chaptered stories coming later.  Don't mind the colors, I was experimenting.  Some typos fixed.  Working on fic authors, production, and characters.  Should be up soon, thank you for your patience.

July 11, 2002.  Site launched.  One year after TSW made its first large scale showing in movie theaters.  I probably should have been a bit faster; maybe square would have noticed they and their movie were loved and not have shut down their studio.  Doubtful, really, since there are other, much better websites out there devoted to the movie.

But I can dream, can't I?
